About
All About Me
I have been working as a freelance artist and designer for many years and in that time have gained a BA (Hons) degree and MA covering the areas fashion, textiles and surface design. I have exhibited in numerous prestigious exhibitions throughout the UK and abroad.
I re-located to Dubai in 2001 and successfully continued my career as an artist where I was lucky enough to work with many fantastic interior design & architectural practices to produce artwork for numerous exclusive hotels, offices & palaces. Dubai is a bright, colourful and exotic city and this intriguing combination allowed for great inspiration. In 2010 I returned to the UK to set up my studio in Worcestershire.
Inspiration
My work concentrates on creating abstract surfaces through a variety of mixed media. My inspiration originates from sources such as architecture, satellite imagery, order and chaos and abstract images found in nature and captured through photography.
Artwork
The decorative surfaces I produce consist of materials such as canvas, wood, resin, acrylics, silks, plastics, wires, waxes and inks. I am interested in a variety of qualities involved in the creation and destruction of surfaces – regularity and irregularity, distortions of depth and surface through the use of transparency and translucency and the relationship between minimal form and complex surface texture.
Art & Interiors
My work focuses on colour and texture and enhancing the interior of a space. I work closely with architects & interior designers to produce artwork to be incorporated into the architectural features of a space and displayed in innovative ways. Past projects have incorporated my work within screens & multiple pieces designed to create wall installations.
